Here in the PI, we call it Motel. In Japan, they call it a "Love Hotel" which basically serves the same purpose as Hotel Sogo and Victoria. In Osaka, they have something cuter...

Wondering what the stuff on the corners of the bed are? Well, take a hint. They named this the Hello Kitty S & M room. (... and it doesn't stand for Sales & Marketing!)

And not in the photo, there are chains coming from the ceiling as well. Mother F!

Not only that... even Hello Kitty has been dressed (or undressed?) for some S&M action as well.. leather cuffs, chains, barbwire and blindfolds?! ... poor kitty!!

Anyway, the latest news is that they've closed this room already. I'm not sure though whether it's a good thing or a bad thing. Haha

My first experience in White Bird

For the VVIP group arrival, the marketing people were required to accompany the guests to go shopping. Yesterday, Jacky and i were scheduled to escort (ie.. maging major julalay) our VVIP guests.. I wanted to cry... I heard they were mean.. but oh no! Much to my delight, they were the nicest, 40-something group of rich ladies. Just like my normal regular happy fam tour groups. No big deal then.

So, on the way to MOA, one of them asked us whether we had "shows" here in the RP... (note: this conversation was either in Chinglish or otherwise, translated into mandarin by Jackie)

I'm like... shows? what shows?

VIP guest: shows... like dancing

ME: dancing? like Club Mwah (described Club Mwah here)

VIP: no.. shows.. like men...

ME: men?! (to Jacky, in disbelief) Jack, hubad ba ang gusto nila?! (Jacky translates)

VIP makes gesture meaning tiny, answers in chinese. Jacky translates.

JACKY: yung.... konti lang ang suot...

ME: WHAT?! (calls Rolph from cell) Rolph, may alam ka bang gay bar?!

ROLPH (on the phone): hah? ahm.. White Bird sa Pasay.

.... so it was settled... White Bird it was... not until after the first stop when the lady asked us again..

VIP: in the show, do they really strip?

ME (translated by JACKY): yes they do.

VIP: how about girls, do you have?

ME: yes, but in a different place. we can go there too after

VIP: not together?! and they do it?

ME (to Jacky): kakaiba ang trip nila ha.. (asks Rolph, Jay and Sonny whether they know of any.... alas, there's none)

--- after much coordination with our amazing concierge team.. we were able to get a reservation at White Bird for 12 persons that night.

At the White bird, together with my landi-mates Apols and mama Chona we were cordially welcomed by the manager (now my friend.. haha), Rossana Anaconda (really, that's the name on the business card!)...

ok... so there... I can't go any further, otherwise I'll be having a hard time looking at men again ... whew!!!! but yeah, I think I'll go back with my friends!! bwahaha... sana game pa rin sina apols! hehe

afternoon (just when the rest of the sales team has gone back from their sales call), i was sitted on jay's huge arm chair, typing away... he rings my mobile.. asks me some work stuff - the answers can be found on my desk 180 degrees away (we are sitted with our backs to each other). i put one knee on the chair and swivel the chair around, with my left hand on my fone and my right hand on the back of the seat... and whoops... i fall face flat to the floor.. i think i might have said something offensive also... ms undine's and ms pinky from their offices stood up in alarm, everybody else followed.. i still managed to get my phone back to my ear in a split second...

I love the belle de jour planner... it has a section where you could write your goals for the year... but like i said, I'm very visual, I like seeing things so they become more realistic. So here are just some things I wanna do for the year, I got the help of my good friend Barbie. haha

I introduced myself to the girl, she said, I think we met before.... a long time ago, you were with Charlie. Then I remembered my first visit to Bedrock with Chach back in June, Tim was there with a girl I don't really recall.

My insights on Twilight

Ok... lemme start by stating three personal facts:

1. I have always been fascinated with vampires, ever since a kid.

2. I love both the book and the movie. (isn't it obvious?) and

3. I've just seen the film, I've just read book one as well. As for books 2-4... I have absolutely no idea what's gonna happen to Edward and Bella after the first installment of the quadrilogy.

That being said, lemme just say this, I mean, reiterate as it has been said many times before... Edward Cullen, is simply fantastical. He is so "dazzling" he makes any girl wanna bleed. Stephanie Meyer has done a great job with her selection of words also that Edward is so suave.

I appreciate the internal drama Edward has got to face also just to be with Bella.. when he wants her so bad but he's afraid to hurt her... Aww... that's just so sweet... and on her part she'd risk her life to be with him... aww... again. Meyer did mention, "a stupid lamb... a masochistic lion" ... but he never turns her into a vampire (as of book one)... when she on the other hand is ready for eternity with him..

Now sweet Edward could argue that he doesn't want her to suffer, be a monster or whatever his reasons are... he just goes on saying: "Wouldn't a lifetime with me be enough?" ... duh?!

This just leads me to believe that Edward is just like any regular guy ... he's got issues with commitment. Har har ... I really hope he turns her into a vampire in the sequel... seriously, it will break my heart to see Bella grow old... think Wendy and Peter Pan... not a very nice ending.

But.... I just realized something... James... the villain... he shouldn't have died... he's the hottest vampire I've ever seen! His nothing-will-stop-me and i-adore-challenges attitude is such a turn on! And he's very astute, he outsmarted Bella by playing on her weakness, when she though she could outsmart him. Damn... I always fall for the bad, "bad guy".

All in all, I think Meyer did a great job in enlightening the world about vampires, not in a creepy, diabolic way as they have always been perceived. To Stephanie Meyer, thanks for bringing Edward Cullen into our fairy tale lives.

The Suite Life with Chachy

I've had great weekends but this is absolutely the best so far. I arrived after midnight last friday. Actually, Chach and Eric picked me up from the KL station (Gracia, WTF, 8 ringgit lang ang fare, why daffak did we pay 120 ringgit for the cabbie before?! That's almost 1,6k php difference)

The Suite Living
I think I failed to mention, he transferred to the Westin and he was living in the executive suite. damnit!!!!! even better than the Ascott. And it was right across the Pavilion, probably one of the most posh malls in KL. So the view from his balcony was Gucci, Hermes, Ermenegildo Zegna, Coach, etc..

But wait, the room was just the beginning...

Posh Dining
The posh breakfasts (yes the ones Mrs Bancroft ordered), lunches, dinners and after-parties at nearby hotels and clubs added more glam.

My fave was Qbar at the Westin and dinner at Prime at the Le Meridien. Prime is a fine dining steak restau - like the Fireplace. And holy cow! The burger was probably the best I ever tasted. It's so good it should not have qualified as a burger. Chach said it's like steak on a bun. And for 30$ for a burger, it made sense. I had the-best-ever lobster bisque, superbly tender steak and salmon that melts in your mouth.

Ok before I turn into another boring vacation monologue, I'll make the shift na. Well, the only reason I enjoyed this trip is obviously because of my navy boy. Heller. Don't need common sense to get that one.

I think this is a fantastic combination. He goes to the gym and I go to the pool, read a book and sun bathe. He meets me after for a quick swim and a late lunch. Syet para kong asawa, this is the life. And oh boy, he swims very gracefully, he used to be in the swim team, go figure, he's in the navy. Either way that would've made him my king triton.

The issue about the walk

Yes he still enjoys arguing with me for every little detail, but that only shows that he's smart, witty and is a very wide reader. I still challenge him and we have cute little fights now. He walks fast I mean, he's 6'2", more than a ruler's length taller than me. I've always complained about that (right gracee?!):
Me: Can't you walk slower?
Him: What can I do I have longer legs
Me: Exactly why it's hard to keep up with you.
Him: What did I tell you about whining?
Me: I'm not whining.
Him: Yes you are.
Me: No I'm not.
me.. walks slowly, intentionally...
Him: What is the problem now?
Me: You walking fast doesn't mean I have to also right?
... haha... I win this bout.. he eventually walks slower as he doesn't have any other choice but to wait for me anyway.

But he's sweet and he's a gentleman (when he wants to be). Even more now than before. He opens doors now and pulls chairs for me. Man! He makes me coffee, heats up bagels and runs off to the convenience store to get me chips while I was doing my movie marathon. If that isn't sweet then I dunno what is. I mean, considering that he's a bad-ass boy. And I think it's just cute that he lies on my lap while watching a phillies game in the poolside bar.

and yeah.. the best thing.. he got me a starbucks city mug.. from his trip last september in hawaii :) ahlovet!

Wonderful saturday morning at KL

We went to the Beach club again yesterday... I didn't get too drunk, I didn't fall off the stairs.. haha

This morning I called the operator at the Westin to order room service.

I was greeted by the friendly operator: "Good morning, Mrs Bancroft!"

I was caught off guard but then later played along. He even repeated my order saying: "Mrs Bancroft, you ordered ... blah blah blah" ... haha

I told Chach of course. Haha. And then they called after a few minutes to verify. I was in the restroom so Chach answered.

When I came out, he said: "They just called to confirm that Mrs Bancroft ordered so and so. I just said yeah whatever.

Pasintabi na lamang po, pero ang babaeng ito ay nakilala nya sa isang jologs na pugad ng mga kalapating mababa ang lipad sa Malate. Ang pangalan nya ay Eunice, at pasalamat sya at hindi nagkaroon ng pagkakataon na magkakilala kami, kung hindi ay baka nasa impyerno na sya ngayon.

Ngayon, ang pinakamalaking pagkakamali ng kaibigan ko ay nag tiwala sya put@ng yun. Hindi nya ipinakilala sa akin bruhang yun sa pagaakalang magbabagong loob ito - ayaw nyang husgahan ko ang pagkatao ng babae dahil lamang sa trabahong ginagawa nya. Ngunit lingid sa kanyang kaalaman ay ginamit lamang sya nung dimonyong yung upang pagkakwartahan. Ngunit umaasa pa rin ako na magkakaroon tayo ng kaunlaran kahit paano. Naniniwala pa rin ako na may mga Pilipinong buo ang loob na pagsilbihan ang sambayanan. Kaya't sana, sa mga nakakabasa nito, maisip ninyong sa bawat isa sa atin nagsisimula ang pagbabago, sana maibahagi ninyo sa inyong mga kaibigan na panahon na upang bumangon tayo sa imaheng dugyot at walang disiplina. Ito ay hindi lamang para sa turismo, ngunit para na rin sa ikagaganda ng ating bayan.

I can't help myself... I need to blog this.... sorry to my friends.. I dont mean to make you my guinea pigs :)

Last night was tito Gerry and tita Beth's 25th wedding anniversary (aka Johara's parents). Congratulations to them!!! I always say that things like those call for a celebration as not everybody is lucky to reach that point in their relationship.

This makes you think about relationships. The different kinds that exist out there, the different labels and people's attitude toward them. I look at my friends and I realize, we are all different...

Case number 1, The Perfect Couple: Michiko, in a happy, healthy relationship for years with Galvin. Ideal couple, they complement each other and they almost look alike at times. Enough said, I guess this is self explanatory, I'm very happy for them, I can't imagine them not ending up with each other. BTW, she picked out a charm from the cake saying: "you'll marry soon"

Case number 2, The Power of Love: Giselle and Carlo. Little, miss-good girl meets Mr not-so-good boy. This college scholar, former-school-teacher gets into a relationship with Mr artistic fratman. They fall in love and poof. You think all is history, wait til Mr not-so-good boy gets back to his not-so-good ways. They have a terrible, terrible break up. but somewhere along the way, love finds its way and brings this couple back. It's been more than a year since their breakup and these two looks like they're going a long way more. Nice save!

Note: she didn't get to pick a charm from the cake, she left early.

Case number 3, The "Un-relationship": Johara and Marlon. Now these two, have been dating exclusively for as looong as I could remember, but they choose "not to fall under any categorical relationship labels". They're not "a couple" nor "MU" but as long as they can understand each other, then they're fine. It's been like this for about 8 years now and it will be for many years to come. (ok Gracee, don't argue, let them be!)

Her cake charm: with a gasp she read: "you'll be happy as a single maid"

- i say, of course not! you don't fall under that label either!

Case number 4, The Love-hate relationship: Gracee has been going out with Michael for 10 months now. I wouldn't say they had the perfect beginning, but they are doing fine. Except that she dates Puerto Ricans behind his back and he hacks her email and multiply account!!!! (i hope he's not reading this now - - again!) bwahaha. She tells him that she's going out with the girls. He says: sometimes I think you enjoy their company more than mine. She says yes, of course. But nevertheless, I know somewhere there, they're very happy.

So anyway, to the party, I brought RJ (or JR) along. I knew the girls will be bringing their boyfriends, I'll be the lone single star yet again. I'm the only single person in the group -- ( here in the Philippines, paging Cappy in Canada! ), which brings me to my final case:

Case number 5, The Companionship: FYI, RJ and I go a loooong way back in Highschool, we met at a common friend's (Joey... as in Joey ni Anna E) party. I was his date during his gradball in LSGH, we talked for hours on the phone, we dated several times during the 7 years we've known each other... BUT, we were never romantic, always platonic.

Maybe it was alcohol washing over her, but Johara, out of nowhere blurts out: "hey, kayo ba?" ... like there was a big lump on our throats, we laughed it off. Hello?! No way, we're good friends. Johara asks again: "C'mon, don't tell me "it's for companionship" again. You've used that excuse since Highschool" It's not an excuse, FYI, it was reasoning.

Michiko asks later, what do you like about Chach? Hmmm, I dunno, but he's nice.

Johara asks, do you think he's the one? When he comes back in October, buys me a condo at McKinley Hill, I'll answer that question.

My mom tells me, maybe something's wrong with me, why am I still single. I tell her, I haven't met the one who deserves me.. naks! He will come in time (in a ducati or maybe on a surfboard). I'm not vulnerable anymore, I've grown a callous heart. I'm very independent and complete. I think a man is a "bonus" in life. If you get it then yey, if not, then maybe next month. I'm happy where I am, enjoying the company of my "companions" until I meet Mr Right.

So just to drive my point home, it doesn't really matter what your stand is in a relationship, you may be happy, happily fighting, or not in a relationship at all, as long as you are contented, then you're on the right track.

So what exactly are "gauchos"?

Let your eyes speak!

Gotta party? Wanna look simply fab? Smoked eyes have always captured attention, but it really isn't easy to achieve, is it?
Lemme show you how I do it then.

Here's what you need...

Eyebrow pencil
Eye liner
Q-tip Brush

Mascara, clear or dark

Eyeshadow
1 Dark shade: ash or stone
1 light: shimmer silver

How to do it?
1. Brush on a coat of the light shade eyeshadow over your lids, followed by a coat of the dark shade.

2. Next, put on eyeliner on both upper and lower lids

3. Smudge the your liner outwards using a Q-tip brush.

4. Line your eyes again.

5. Finally, Curl your lashes and apply 2 coats of mascara..

after these instructions have been meticulously followed, this is what you get and you can now be the Belle of the ball and strut your stuff!

Beauty Tip #002: Never wear bold colors for both eyes and lips. Now if you are gonna try this eye make up, make sure to keep your lips almost bare.

Is your chest attracting more attention than your beautiful face? Does this bother you? Well then, keep on reading coz this might just help you out. My friend, Sheena, taught me this exercise to reduce (can you believe it?) your bust-line.

Step 1: Lie on your back holding a dumbell (maybe 2-4 lbs) directly above your head.

Step 2: Bring your arms above, directly perpendicular to your body.

Do 3 sets of 15, gradually increasing your reps as you progress, and you'll be able to firm ur chest up. :D

Tanned skin? Don't fret girl!Tanned skin is Hott, hott, hott! Here are some of my tips to make you a Sun-kissed Princess!

Here's the Magic 5 things you need:

Maybelline Water Shine Hyper Diamonds in Precious Copper

Bronze powder from Mom & Me

Body Shop Borne Lippy in Strawberry (well any flavor will do)

Maybelline Clear Smooth Gel Foundation in Shade #14

Body Shop Lip & Cheek Tint

Now here's what you do:

1. Moisturize! You're a Goddess. Goddesses don't have dry skin. Try Pond's Moisturizing Face Cream.

2. Put a pea-sized amount of Maybelline Clear Smooth Gel foundation. If you have pimples, uneven skintone, etc, try Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Foundation Stick in shade #2.

3. Put on powder. I'm a loose powder girl so i use Johnson's Pure Essentials in Rosy Pink

4. We are trying to aim for the natural look, try Revlon Wet/Dry Eyeliner in Chocolate Bar. Use it dry for a subtle natural look.

5. Dab the Lip and Cheek tint to your cheeks to give your face a rosy pinch

6. Brush Bronze powder to the apples of your cheeks, bridge of your nose and your forehead for a sun-kissed glow.

7. Apply a coat of Born Lippy or any lip balm, (try also Bonne Bell-i like Mango flavor), then a wear a glossy lipstick like Maybelline Water Shine Hyper Diamonds in Precious Copper.

8. Finally, to finish up your sun-kissed look, slather yourself with Jergens Soft Shimmer lotion.

Who says there's season for being sun-kissed pretty? Strut your glow and be sexy all year round! :)
